Khun Fabric - Maharashtra

If you drive through Maharashtra's countryside, you will notice charming rural women dressed in colorful saris and a special type of bordered blouses made of the fabric known as Khun.
This woven fabric was created in Guledgudda, Karnataka, and has long been a favorite in Maharastra. Its soft touch, range in colors, brocade textures, and durability enabled it to acquire popularity.

Fun Fact: Khun means “sugar”, and this fabric is name so because of the women who wore it worked in the sugarcane belts of Maharashtra and Karnataka.
